Byron Bay food guide

The beaches are beautiful, the locals are friendly and the laid back hippie spirit is contagious. Byron Bay is a popular destination for surfers, sun seekers and foodies alike. With so many restaurants, coffee shops & takeaways joints to choose from, you could easily spend a week eating & drinking your way around Byron Bay and its surrounds.

We recently spent 2 nights in Byron Bay, which we don’t think was enough time to fully experience this beautiful town. We did however do, see and eat as much as we possibly could!

Here is a list of the restaurants we visited and would highly recommend.

Folk is located in the peaceful outskirts of Byron Bay, surrounded by lush greenery. The interiors are super cute with various outdoor and indoor seating areas to choose from. The menu is organic, plant based and everything is ethically sourced. The food is delicously tasty and beautifully presented and the coffee is perfectly brewed. A great spot for breakfast or lunch!

Byron Fresh Cafe

Byron Fresh is a good spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They focus on foods inspired by a healthier lifestyle using free-range, organic, local produce where possible. The restaurant design creates a variety of seating areas with a relaxed vibe. The menu has something for everyone (even some vegan friendly options), and includes a delicious dessert selection.

Miss Margarita

Miss Margarita is a cosy colourful Mexican cantina in the heart of Byron Bay.  Serving up Enchiladas, Tacos, Burritos, Nachos & Quesadeillas for lunch and dinner, with a festive vibe and delicious Margaritas (of course).

The Balcony Bar and Oyster co. is a great spot to spend the afternoon soaking up the Byron Bay vibe, while sipping on a cocktail. Make sure you get a spot on one of the comfy couches on the balcony where you can people watch in the street below. The menu offers a wide variety of meal and drink choices.

The Mez Club

The Mex Club is a Mediterranean inspired restaurant with seriously beautiful interiors. They offer a menu which draws on flavours from Morocco to Turkey. A lovely spot to enjoy an early evening drink and a bite to eat.

The Farm is yet another creation from The Three Blue Ducks team. We were really excited to try this restaurant and were not disappointed. Located a 10 minute drive out of Byron Bay on a working farm, there is plenty to do and see here. After your meal make sure you take a walk around the farm where you will find pigs, chickens, cows and plenty vegetables. The on-site bakery has some delicious dessert options for takeaway or to enjoy while you are there.
