Looking for a secluded beach close to Sydney? Believe it or not, they do exist! Resolute Beach at Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park will make you feel like you have been transported to a tropical island while getting some exercise in the process.
We were pleasantly suprised by what we found, paved alley ways, with string lanterns across courtyards, beautiful murals and 6 hawker style eateries to choose from. All the eateries serve Asian cuisine from various countries: Singaporean, Thai, Malaysian, Cantonese, Japanese and Vietnamese.
Moving countries means refurnishing a home, which makes me (the Blonde) very excited! We had a couple of furniture items shipped over from South Africa, but a bookcase wasn’t one of them and we had a stack of books that needed to be stored.
A mere hours drive from Sydney’s CBD lies the beautiful Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park With its breathtaking views, iconic Australian bushland and ancient Aboriginal engravings, this is the perfect day trip for anyone looking to get away from the city.
As South Africans, one of our favourite things to have with a cup of tea or coffee is a rusk. This is a recipe that Jenna’s (the Blonde) mom has made for many years, so when we make it here in Australia it reminds us of home.
There is no better way to warm up on a chilly winters day than a nice brisk walk! A couple of weekends ago we did the Hermitage Foreshore walk which follows the ocean and has the most spectacular views of Sydney Harbour, the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House as well as great swimming beaches and parks for picnicking.
Ubud manages to reflect the unique Balinese way of life whilst oozing charm and a low-key vibe that is irresistible. It is a health food lovers paradise! The village has many restaurants, museums, spa’s, yoga studios, art galleries and shops full of local arts, craft and clothing. Ubud has something for everyone!
Nusa Lembongan was once a beach shack surfers paradise, but in more recent years has become more popular with families, couples and backpackers all looking for an island retreat. Although Nusa Lembongan has become a popular destination, you can still find a beach shack with a view of the ocean or if you would prefer, there are also plenty of boutique hotels and resorts to choose from.
We are back in chilly Sydney feeling refreshed and inspired after an awesome 9 days in Bali. This week’s Friday Favourites is going to be short and sweet, we will be sharing a recipe and a tip/trick we discovered whilst on holiday. Unlocking luggage when you forget the pin or like in our case the pin miraculously…
We knew we wanted to stay in Seminyak, so we jumped straight onto booking.com and managed to find an awesome boutique hotel called Tijili in Seminyak – about a 5 minute walk from Seminyak beach. Tijili is a new hotel that has been open for less than 2 years but they seem to have gotten everything right.
We have decided to start doing a “Friday Favourites” post where we will take a look back at the week and share new finds, informative articles, or just some things that made us smile! We invite you to join in on the fun by sharing your favorites for the week in the comments section. We hope you enjoy it! Draw a…
I found an amazing house on Airbnb called Moosewood. The property is located on 40 hectares of farm and bushland with views of the valley and mountains. The house is based on a traditional barn design, it is an old shed that has been converted into a 4 bedroom house with open plan dining, kitchen and living room. The house is light and airy, yet warm enough and cosy on chilly winter nights. The design of the house is cleverly thought out and it has been tastefully decorated with great attention to detail. (We could have stayed for ever!)
